A New Brain

Gordo, a young writer for a popular network children’s show (with aspirations of something greater) finds his life and his work interrupted by an unexpected brain tumor. In his coma he experiences a journey through his subconscious and thru facing death – he faces life. Featuring beautiful music by William Finn, and a witty and heartfelt book by Finn and James Lapine, two theatre giants with credits that include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Falsettos, and Into the Woods. ‘A New Brain’ is a compelling musical tale of one man’s re-birth based on Finn’s own experience with a brain trauma and art-fueled recovery.
A New Brain premiered off-Broadway in 1998, and since has been revived in cities around the world. Now we’re performing it for a one-weekend limited run.
