Bob Thoresen is an accomplished abstract and mixed media artist known for creating impactful works using materials like found objects, metal, paper, and bold colors. His art often carries social, political, and environmental commentary, with his most recent show, "Buried in Trash: Plastic is Poison for our Planet," receiving widespread acclaim and touring the region.

As a juried member of the NH Art Association, Bob has served as a juror and curator for numerous shows and exhibits. He co-created the Artist Advancement Grant for the NH Charitable Foundation and continues to select recipients for its annual $25,000 award.

For over 50 years, Bob has been deeply involved in the Portsmouth community, serving as President of the NH Art Association and recently as Co-Chair of the city's Public Art Review Committee. He has held leadership roles in over 20 non-profit organizations and received numerous honors, including awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the American Institute of Architects.
