There was serious royalty among the queens at the (mostly) monthly Red Light Series’s “Mondays Are a Drag, ’80s Night.” It featured Drag Kings, Drag Queens, Faux Queens, lip sync, live singing, and dancing, and better yet, four talented people who reigned over the kingdom.
These shows are more “anthology,” with each performer choosing their own songs and designing their own routines and all important costumes.
The ”’80s Night ” was hosted by Questian Marc (Alyssa Dumas). He had people eating out of his hand from the first hello, and that relationship never subsided.
The night’s program had fleshed-out routines interspersed throughout, performed by either a duo or trio of resident actors, (Dumas, Honey Punch/Jason Faria and Shawnee/Andrea Lyons) with live singing and incredible, ferocious, high energy dance. Each of these performers is in exceptional command of their voices and dance.
Nothing they did was short of outstanding. Watching these three dance, not to mention those strong voices, is more then worth heading out on a Monday night. They set the place on fire and expectations high.
It’s pretty hard to top what these three did, whether solo, duo or trio.
